Food for thought....

A Depiction of Love

One may say the definition of love comes in a bouquet of flowers, a box of chocolates, or perhaps a gentle “I love you” from an admirer. The truth of love, in all its forms, can be depicted throughout the Bible. 1Corinthians 13:4-7 states, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

Love in all its forms demonstrates Christlike characteristics reflecting His light to those we love.  Another beautiful depiction of love is through the complete life and ministry of Jesus Himself. He came to carry the sin of the world and freely give us eternal reconciled life with the Heavenly Father. This demonstration of love has no comparison. John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God’s unwavering love for His children reveals the truth that Love Never Fails! God loved us so much that not only did He send His one and only Son, but He never gave

up on us because God is love!  Lastly, we are commanded by Christ to love one another. 1John 4:7-10 states, “Beloved, let us love and seek the best for one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves [others] is born of God and knows God [through personal experience]. The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God, for God is love. By this the love of God was displayed in us, in that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” We are to convey the love to one another that was first given to us by God. God is love!

In the simplest terms, love each other unconditionally and without reservation seeing the good in one another as our Father sees the good in each of us. May you carry that divine love in such a way that it permeates the hardest of hearts.

Many blessings,

Pastor Mel

Attitude Check

Today can be great if your attitude is right!

What kind of attitude do you convey? Do you give off an attitude of gratitude?

The reality is most people don't. They do not want to be bothered; moreover, they could care less about others and spend more time focusing on what is lacking in their life! Most of us are consumed with lack of money, health issues, family drama, or the lack of motivation at work! However, if you change your perspective and adjust your lens, anything can be seen with joy.

I was that individual who loathed life. The problem was my attitude. I began every day getting in My Own Way! Sometimes we need the reminder that we can do it! Keep your focus on what is in store and keep your mind receptive to all the possibilities that lie ahead!

Psalm 27:13 "I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."

Be blessed and know this...YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

In Him,

Pastor Mel

Pray before you Post!

Don't try to devalue someone else because you lack understanding of your own worth!

I see so many people put others down, but the reality is...you don't know how loved YOU ARE!

So, what damage are we causing in the midst of our confusion and lack of understanding?  Be mindful of your words (and posts)!  A phrase I keep hearing in my home lately is "Pray before you post!"  Some people needed to read that and it shows!  Read it again!!  I had too!  Take the time to think before you act!!!  Control your mouth and get your thoughts right!  Others are looking to you as a mentor.

Ephesians 4:29 "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."

Be an encourager today!  Lift one another up!  Hold the door for someone!  Let someone know they are important to you!  Have a blessed Friday!

STOP IT!

Isn't it crazy how quickly people turn on you when you don't agree with them?  Whether it's in a job, family issues, ideals, doctrines, leadership, even what food is right to eat, or where you stand politically?!  Certain people will attempt to push past you or simply put you down for having a different point of view!!

We're taught to act like adults and look past the pettiness!  However, the reality is that most adults will demonstrate that outwardly only to gossip about these topic in their inner-circle!

Do NOT get caught up in the distractions of man and become the enemy's puppet!!!  Too many good people are being used in this manner!!  These are times for bold believers to say STOP IT!!

James 1:19-20 says: "Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God."

In other words....Be quite, forgive, and move on!!  You cannot belittle and walk upright!  Here's the kicker, some do not want to because it means they can no longer thrive on being the victim in everything!  Then there are those who use their positions to push their vies onto others!

Ephesians 4:31-32 states:  "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."

To sum up, we all bring something different to the table!! We are meant to in our divine design!!!  Pray for enlightenment!  Pray for healing!  Pray for those you disagree with, then allow God to handle it!  KEEP QUIET AND PRAISE IT OUT!!

God made you mightily!!  Walk upright in bold faith knowing you ARE amazing!  Have a blessed week!!

Rise, Soar and Shine!

The absolute best thing in this life is knowing what you're called to do and living it out!!!  We have all been called to something special.  Our experiences in life, whether good and sometimes bad, are all purposed in the grooming stages for that calling.

2 Timothy 1:7 says:  "That precious memory triggers another: your honest faith--and what a rich faith it is, handed down from your grandmother Lois to your mother Eunice, and now to you! And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed--keep that ablaze! God doesn't want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible."

The more you've experienced, the more you're going to be used!!  Be Bold! Be loving!  Be sensible! Own those experiences and allow God to use them for His glory in your divine calling!!

Remember, you are meant to Rise, Soar and Shine!!

Happy Miraculous Monday!  May the Lord Bless You in every area of your life!

Move On!

How many of you feel trapped by regrets or circumstances?  It's time for you to lay the old down and MOVE ON!  Jesus said, GET UP, PICK UP YOUR MAT, and WALK! (John 5:8).  You're stuck because your mind is stuck, not your Spirit!

Let's GO!  It's time for new things!  Lay it down and WALK in faith!  God's got you!  Trust the process!

Hebrews 12:1

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.  And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,"

LET IT GO!! Move on!!!  Time to run your race of faith!!!  God said, "READY, SET, GOOOO"!!

Be blessed and know He is with you!!

Declaration time!

I am declaring today that all your needs will be met!  All that is set for you will be distributed according to God's will.

Do not be discouraged by your circumstances, but be encouraged in knowing that God has made a way where you believe there is none!  You are NOT ALONE!

Philippians 4:19  "And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Jesus Christ."

May you be blessed abundantly and in all you do.  May all those you encounter see the light of Christ in your life, in your love, in your actions and in your words!

HAPPY MONDAY!!

Listen and Do

There’s so much more to faith then hearing! We have all heard the words…”Be a doer of the Word”.

How often do we get caught up in daily routines that we read, study, but fail to do exactly what we are suppose to live out?

James 1:19-26

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: you must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness of God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly except the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. But don’t listen just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says otherwise you are fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in the mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.

Do not become robotic! Live like you have someone worth living for!! Seize every moment! Be observant..be alert..and be receptive!!!

James 1:26-27

If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

When we are obedient listeners and active doers, then the world’s ways become more foreign and our faith greater!!

May the Lord shine His face upon today!

Uniquely You!

August 26, 2021

How beautiful that we are divinely designed and interwoven together for the kingdom and His glory!

Romans 12:4-8 MSG

In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we’re talking about is Christ’s body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn’t amount to much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body, let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t. If you preach, just preach God’s Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don’t take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don’t get bossy; if you’re put in charge, don’t manipulate; if you’re called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don’t let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face. * * *

Don’t try to be everyone and everything else! Be beautiful and uniquely made YOU! It’s your divine design!!! Your place is ordained and your purpose unique!!

Psalm 139:14

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Many people are tossed out like trash and replaced, but that is NOT of God!! He made you special and brilliant!! Walk upright knowing who you WALK WITH!! God loves you!!!!

Let me pose a question.....

April 30. 2021

Are we acting and speaking Christlike in all areas of our daily life?  Do we reflect Christ and His light, or do we look like a sub-standard Christian?  Foolish people engage in foolish actions as wise people seek wisdom in all things.  This is truth!  This is a discipline!!!  It is too easy to fall into things and actions of others we love or follow, but a wise man seeks God's direction.  Our Spirit within us gives us enlightenment, grace, removes actions and habits that draw us away from the lover of our souls.  Allow Him to guide your words, your thoughts, and your actions so that all you do brings glory to God.  It's not hard, it's a discipline that all believers should strive for.

Ephesians 4:15 "But speaking the truth in love in all things-both our speech and our lives expressing His truth, let us grow up in all things into Him following His example who is the Head-Christ."

It's awesome that our spirituality comes with correction! Are you receptive to correction or do you justify your actions to God?  This will keep you wandering in the wilderness for some time asking God, 'Why is this happening?'  Be aware of your shortcomings!  Learn to be sensitive to the Spirit allowing Him to guide your every move!  Moreover, allow Him to make those changes within you by breaking those habits one by one!!!

Galatians 5:25 "If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit."

May the Lord bless you and keep you in all things!

How do you identify?

April 28. 2021

How do you identify?

So many times in life we get so wrapped up in the digital world that we need to step back and digitally detox for a time.  Do not allow the hustle and bustle of the world to distract you from centering yourself in Christ.  Your daily focus should be on His ordained steps for that day.  If you find yourself missing the mark, then take a step back and close your digital world for spiritual maintenance.

Colossians 3:2 "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth."

Proverbs 4:25 "Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you."

Remember, do not allow the ways of this world, advanced technologies, or the routines of your life to become idols or new addictions in your faith.  Be blessed and may the Lord shine His face upon you.

Do you believe?

March 22, 2021

What are you asking God for? Are you REALLY believing for it? There is quite a difference when we ask him for help and when we truly believe for His intervention.

Joshua 10:12-15 NIV: On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” 13 So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped,

till the nation avenged itself on[a] its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. 14 There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel! 15 Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.

So let's recap........

When you go to the throne humbly, pure of heart, adn truly seeking God's guidance, He can intervene on your behalf because it fits His perfect will in your life. That's the key! So speak to your mountains and your Goliaths because God's there to make that happen on your behalf!! You are more than precious to Him than gems!

Are you blessed today?

March 16, 2021

Are you blessed today?  Proclaim His goodness in your life!!

Deuteronomy 28:2-10 AMPC

And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you heed the voice of the Lord your God. 3 Blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock. 5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading trough.

6 Blessed shall you be when you come in and blessed shall you be when you go out. 7 The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouse and in all that you undertake. And He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you. 9 The Lord will establish you as a people holy to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. 10 And all people of the earth shall see that you are called by the name [and in the presence of] the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.

Amen!  Thank you Lord for your blessings, your grace, your kindness, and your mercy!  You're a good good Daddy!!
